1. Acceptance
By using MeriApply, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. Service description
MeriApply is an AI-powered application platform for scholarships, NHS jobs and research proposals. We apply and submit on your behalf when automatic submission is enabled; you track outcomes in the dashboard.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use.
4. Subscription and billing
Paid plans are billed in GBP. Refunds are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period unless otherwise stated at checkout.
5. AI-assisted content
MeriApply prepares and submits applications on your behalf when you enable automatic submission (default at onboarding). You remain responsible for reviewing packet content in the dashboard. Funders with prohibited AI policies are excluded from automatic submission. See our AI Disclosure Policy for details.
6. Acceptable use
Your use of MeriApply is also governed by our Acceptable Use Policy, which sets out activities that are prohibited on the platform (including submitting false or misleading information, abusing the service to spam funders, or attempting to circumvent usage limits or security controls). A breach of that policy is a breach of these Terms.
7. Intellectual property
MeriApply and its licensors own all rights in the platform itself — the software, design, strategy-generation logic, and underlying technology. We claim no ownership over the documents you upload to your vault or the facts they contain.
Draft content generated for your application (strategy briefs, essay drafts, personal statements) is licensed to you to use, edit, and submit as part of your own application. You are free to use it however you like once submitted; we do not retain any ownership claim over the final content you choose to submit.
8. Disclaimers and no guarantee of outcomes
MeriApply helps you prepare and submit stronger applications, but we do not control funder, university, NHS trust, or grant-body decisions, and we do not guarantee that any application will be successful. The platform is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under English law.
Subject to that, to the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) MeriApply shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or opportunity (including a missed scholarship, job offer, or grant), arising from your use of the platform; and (b) our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the platform shall not exceed the greater of (i) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (ii) £100.
10. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time from your dashboard settings, or by emailing [email protected].
We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if:
- you breach these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy;
- your account poses a security risk to the platform or other users;
- we are required to do so by law; or
- we reasonably believe continued service would expose MeriApply or a funder to legal or reputational risk.
Where practical, we will give you notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue first. On termination, your right to use the platform ends immediately; data retention and deletion following termination are governed by our Privacy Policy.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes), are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. Before starting formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve the issue directly.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or an in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of MeriApply after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
