1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the rules for using MeriApply. It forms part of our Terms of Service, and a breach of this policy is a breach of those Terms.
2. Prohibited conduct
You must not use MeriApply to:
- submit false, fabricated, or knowingly misleading information in an application;
- impersonate another person or submit an application on behalf of someone who has not authorised you to do so;
- upload content that infringes a third party's intellectual property or privacy rights, or that is unlawful, defamatory, or harassing;
- attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or security controls, including through automated scraping, credential sharing, or multiple accounts created to evade a suspension;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without our prior written permission; or
- use the platform to spam funders, universities, or NHS trusts with low-quality or duplicate applications submitted purely to game acceptance odds.
3. Content accuracy
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide to MeriApply, including documents uploaded to your vault and facts used to generate application content. AI-assisted drafts are prepared from what you provide; you must review generated content in your dashboard before it is submitted, where review is available, and you remain responsible for its accuracy.
4. Funder-specific rules
Some funders, universities, NHS trusts, and grant bodies prohibit or restrict the use of AI-assisted tools in applications. MeriApply excludes such funders from automatic submission where we are aware of their policy, as described in our AI Disclosure Policy. You must not knowingly submit an AI-assisted application to a funder whose rules prohibit it, including by disabling safeguards we put in place for that purpose.
5. Security
You must keep your account credentials confidential and notify us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised. You must not attempt to access another user's account or data without authorisation.
6. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and take action proportionate to the issue, including removing content, disabling automatic submission, suspending an account, or terminating an account for serious or repeated breaches, as set out in our Terms of Service.
7. Reporting a violation
If you believe someone is misusing MeriApply in a way that breaches this policy, email [email protected] with details.
